Research, Attribution & Provenance
Each work is considered individually, with attention to authorship, attribution, provenance, condition, materials, craftsmanship, and historical significance. Our research may include examining signatures, foundry marks, casting techniques, edition information, catalogue references, and available archival documentation.
Where appropriate, we photograph identifying details and consult published scholarship and historical sources to better understand a sculpture's origins, production, and artistic context. We distinguish between original works, historical casts, later editions, and sculptures made after celebrated artists or classical antiquity.

Beyond historical research, we consider a sculpture's scale, architectural presence, and relationship to its surroundings. A member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), his approach brings together connoisseurship and interior design: selecting works with character, history and visual impact, while considering how art and objects function within a room and become part of the way people live now.
